| Résumé | L’art et la créativité sont fréquemment mobilisés dans la ville et sa promotion. Par sa dimension sensible, l’art participe à la mise en récit du projet et à l’adhésion de la population. De plus, l’artiste, par sa vision innovante et créative peut apporter une plus-value importante à la compréhension du territoire, la proposition de solution ou la médiation du projet. L’art peut également faciliter l’intégration d’une nouvelle infrastructure de transport. En effet, l’arrivée d’un tramway dans une agglomération génère une mutation importante du territoire. Malgré sa capacité à répondre à des problématiques centrales de la ville et de son développement, son arrivée impacte néanmoins un paysage vécu et le quotidien de tout un bassin de population. L’art pourrait alors ménager son apparition progressive. A travers les exemples de la résidence artistique du tram des Nations et du chantier culturel du Tramway lausannois, ce travail explore le rôle de l’art dans l’accompagnement de la transformation d’un territoire. Il questionne l’impact des dispositifs artistiques sur les projets et sur la population et met en lumière les enjeux liés à l’intégration d’une dimension artistique à un projet d’infrastructure de tramway. La recherche permet de montrer que plusieurs défis émergent lors de l’hybridation entre les domaines de l’art et de l’aménagement et qu’il subsiste un décalage entre les espoirs cultivés par les instigateurs des démarches et leurs résultats effectifs. |
| Summary | Art and creativity are frequently used to promote the city. Through its sensitive dimension, art helps to tell the story of the project and win public support. What's more, the artist's innovative and creative vision can add significant value to the understanding of the area, the proposal of solutions or the mediation of the project. Art can also facilitate the integration of a new transport infrastructure. Indeed, the arrival of a tramway in a conurbation generates major changes in the area. Despite its ability to address key issues for the city and its development, its arrival nonetheless has an impact on the landscape and daily life of an entire population. Art could then gradually make its appearance. Using the examples of the Tram des Nations artistic residency and the Lausanne Tramway cultural worksite, this work explores the role of art in accompanying the transformation of a territory. It questions the impact of artistic devices on projects and on the population, and highlights the issues involved in integrating an artistic dimension into a tramway infrastructure project. The research shows that the hybridization of art and planning poses a number of challenges, and that there is still a gap between the hopes cultivated by the initiators of these approaches and their actual results. |
