| Résumé | Ce travail de mémoire du certificat de Géomatique de l’Université de Genève présente le développement d’une application de cartographie en ligne des inégalités territoriales dans le canton de Genève. L’accroissement de ces inégalités – imputées à de nombreux facteurs socio-économiques – a engendré une forte réaction du conseil d’état du canton de Genève, qui est à l’origine de la création du centre d’analyse territoriale des inégalités à Genève, le CATI-Ge. Basé sur les rapports d’activités du CATI-Ge et sur la méthodologie qui y est décrite, nous avons cartographié les inégalités territoriales sur le canton de Genève pour six indicateurs (allant du revenu annuel brut médian à la part de chômeurs inscrits) et pour un indice synthétique, permettant ainsi de visualiser les communes et les sous-secteurs statistiques qui présentent le plus d’inégalités territoriales, et ce pour deux années distinctes (2011 et 2014, correspondant aux deux rapports d’activités du CATI-Ge). Nous avons ensuite mis en ligne ces cartographies, regroupées au sein d’une application de web-mapping permettant de naviguer de façon interactive entre ces différents résultats d’analyses, représentés par 28 cartes. Cette application étant amenée à évoluer au fur et à mesure des nouveaux rapports d’activités du CATI-Ge, nous présentons aussi différentes options de développement permettant de répondre, plus ou moins facilement et adéquatement, aux différentes exigences des membres du CATI-Ge, ainsi qu’à celles des utilisateurs principaux que sont les décideurs et les habitants du canton de Genève. |
| Summary | This geomatics certificate thesis presents the development of a web-mapping application, displaying territorial inequalities in Geneva canton. The increase of such inequalities – due to a certain number of socio-economic drivers – has resulted in a strong reaction from the government of Geneva canton and has led to the creation of the Center of Territorial Inequalities Analysis (CATI-Ge) in 2009. Based on the CATI-Ge reports and on their associated methodology, we have mapped the territorial inequalities in Geneva canton, for six indicators (ranging from the median annual gross income to the proportion of unemployment) as well as for a synthetic indicator, enabling to identify and visualize the cities and sub-sectors with the highest rate of territorial inequalities, for both the 2011 report and the 2014 report. We then have displayed online these cartographic results, gathered within a single online web-mapping application, enabling users to interactively browse the analysis results, represented by 28 different maps. Such application is supposed to be updated when new CATI-Ge reports are released. Therefore, we also present different options and paths enabling the update of this application and the different properties that such application should have in order to properly answer the users’ needs, which are the CATI-Ge members but also the inhabitants of Geneva canton as well as different stakeholders. |
