| Résumé | Ce rapport présente un stage effectué en géomatique au sein de l'Office Cantonal de l'eau. L’objectif est d’explorer les potentialités des technologies ArcGIS et leurs imbrications pour la création et la visualisation de deux indicateurs de la qualité des cours d’eau : les nutriments et les métaux. Le géotraitement des données se base sur des scripts Python exécutables dans ArcGIS Pro. Les outils principaux de visualisation utilisés sont les applications Operations Dashboard et Classic Story Maps disponibles sur le portail cartographique de l’État de Genève. La création de tableaux de bord offre une vue synthétique des indicateurs par la combinaison d’éléments graphiques, cartographiques et textuels. La mise en récit de cette information géographique à travers une Story Map permet de contextualiser ces tableaux de bord. Ces deux outils interactifs, malgré certaines limites de configuration, présentent l’avantage d’une mise à jour annuelle des différents éléments graphiques et cartographiques grâce à l’automatisation du géotraitement. De plus, ils sont complémentaires aux informations disponibles sur la qualité des cours d’eau à Genève. |
| Summary | This report describes an internship in Geographic Information System (GIS) at the Cantonal Water Office in Geneva, Switzerland. The objective was to explore the potential of ArcGIS technologies and their interrelationships to create and visualize two indicators of watercourse quality: nutrients and metals. The geoprocessing of the data was based on Python scripts which can be executed in ArcGIS Pro. The main visualization tools used are the Operations Dashboard and Classic Story Maps applications, that are available on the cartographic portal of the State of Geneva. The creation of dashboards provides a synthetic view of the indicators by combining graphic, cartographic and textual elements. Hence, the narration of this geographic information through a Story Map allows to contextualize these dashboards. Despite certain limitations of configuration, these two interactive tools offer the advantage of an updated on an annual basis, of the different graphic and cartographic elements through the automation of geoprocessing. Moreover, they are complementary to the available information about the quality of watercourses in Geneva. |
