Titre Soil Salinity Prediction Mapping via Sentinel-2 Multispectral Images and Stepwise Regression for June, December and January Sampling Campaigns in The Gambia
Sous-titre
Résumé
Summary To understand how climatic impacts (e.g. sea level rise pushing the salinity front up The Gambia River) will affect the soils and farmers of The Gambia, this study attempts to create a ground-truthed soil salinity map of The Gambia, with high enough resolution to plan for local adaptation measures. Through three soil sampling campaigns in June, December and January, stepwise regressions were performed with Sentinel-2-derived information (spectral bands, vegetation and salinity indices) as predicting variables. Biophysical variables (elevation, distance to salt features and landcover) were also added to the models for predicting salinity levels across the country
