| Résumé | Ce stage a exploré l’usage d’EarthTrack pour améliorer la cartographie du canton de Genève à partir d’images satellites. Après adaptation à une classification suisse, 167 points ont été relevés sur le terrain. L’analyse dans ArcGIS Pro a permis de comparer Sentinel-2 et Landsat 8. Les résultats confirment le potentiel de Sentinel-2 pour une cartographie plus précise. L’étude souligne aussi l’importance de la résolution spatiale, des outils SIG, de la méthode de validation et de l’accessibilité du terrain. |
| Summary | This internship explored the use of EarthTrack to improve land cover mapping of the Geneva area using satellite imagery. After adapting the tool to a Swiss classification system, 167 field points were collected. Data analysis in ArcGIS Pro compared Sentinel-2 and Landsat 8. Results highlight Sentinel-2’s potential for more accurate mapping. The study also emphasizes the importance of spatial resolution, GIS tools, validation methods, and field accessibility. |
