Titre Land Degradation in an alpine country: the Swiss case of study
Sous-titre
Résumé This study applies the Land Degradation and Desertification Sensitivity Index (LDDSI) to Switzerland for 2000-2018, recalibrating Mediterranean-derived thresholds to Swiss conditions in one of the first Alpine applications of the framework. Critically sensitive area rose from 51.9% to 58.7% nationally. Climate drove the scale of this increase almost uniformly, while land management and vegetation explained where it concentrated, flagging the Plateau and the Eastern and Southern Alps as priority areas.
