Ce mémoire s'intéresse aux conséquences du projet de la Corniche-Est sur le quartier d'Akpakpa Dodomey Enagnon à Cotonou, au Bénin. Situé sur le littoral, ce quartier précaire a été profondément affecté par les travaux de cette infrastructure majeure. L'étude porte plus spécifiquement sur les questions de déguerpissements forcés, de participation citoyenne et de mobilisation des habitant.e.s face à ces transformations.
S'appuyant sur une expérience de terrain menée au sein de l'ONG L'Atelier des Griots, ce travail explore les impacts socio-économiques et environnementaux du projet sur les populations locales. L'érosion côtière ainsi que les questions d'indemnisation sont également au cœur de l'analyse.
Le mémoire s'attache de même à comprendre les modalités de mobilisation des habitant.e.s face à ces enjeux. Il met en lumière les difficultés rencontrées par les populations à s'organiser et à faire valoir leurs droits, tout en soulignant les initiatives citoyennes qui ont émergé. |
| Summary |
This thesis examines the impacts of the Corniche-Est project on the Akpakpa Dodomey Enagnon neighborhood in Cotonou, Benin. Located on the coast, this precarious neighborhood has been profoundly affected by the construction of this major infrastructure. The study focuses specifically on issues of forced evictions, citizen participation, and the mobilization of residents in the face of these transformations.
Drawing on fieldwork conducted within the NGO L'Atelier des Griots, this work explores the socio-economic and environmental impacts of the project on local populations. Coastal erosion and issues of compensation are also at the heart of the analysis.
The thesis also seeks to understand the modalities of residents' mobilization in the face of these challenges. It highlights the difficulties faced by populations in organizing themselves and asserting their rights, while also underlining the citizen initiatives that have emerged. |
