| Résumé |
Mon hypothèse porte sur la densification sur le domaine public communal, qui regroupe des surfaces actuellement affectées pour l’aménagement des voies de circulation. Ce changement d’affectation du domaine public communal permet non seulement d’allouer de nouvelles surfaces pour la construction de logements, mais également de réduire l’impact de la circulation automobile à l’intérieur des villes.
Ce travail s’organise autour de la construction d’une utopie, fournissant un autre mode de vie urbain à travers la description de la ville de GE-topia. Cet outil utilisé par de nombreux urbanistes et architectes au cours des siècles donne l’occasion d’imaginer les transformations qui pour- raient s’opérer à l’échelle d’un territoire en fonction de nouveaux comportements.
L’utopie me permet alors de conserver une certaine unité territoriale dans l’ensemble des transformations possibles, observables sur un seul îlot et de dépasser le seul gain de surfaces disponibles pour la construction, en apportant des propositions sur l’organisation, l’architecture, les aménagements, les déplacements et les activités.
Pour démontrer de façon plus concrète les potentiels de cette utopie, j’ai appliqué ces principes sur un îlot de la zone urbaine de Genève à travers un projet d’aménagement urbain. Ce projet pourrait se construire autour d’un processus participatif rassemblant à la fois l’État, urbanistes, architectes, paysagistes et les riverains actuels et futurs.

| Summary |
My hypothesis relates to densification on the municipal public domain, which groups together areas currently allocated for the improvement of traffic lanes. This change in use of the municipal public domain not only makes it possible to allocate new areas for the construction of housing, but also to reduce the impact of car traffic within cities.
This work is organized around the construction of a utopia, providing another urban way of life through the description of the city of GE-topia. This tool, used by many urban planners and architects over the centuries, gives the opportunity to imagine the transformations that could take place on the scale of a territory according to new behaviors.
Utopia then allows me to maintain a certain territorial unity in all of the possible transformations, observable on a single island and to go beyond the only gain in space available for construction, by making proposals on organization, architecture , amenities, travel and activities.
To demonstrate in more concrete terms the potentials of this utopia, I applied these principles to an island in the urban area of Geneva through an urban development project. This project could be built around a participatory process bringing together the State, town planners, architects, landscapers and current and future residents.
