| Résumé |
Depuis plusieurs années, on constate des mutations physiques et sociales dans les milieux agricoles et ruraux genevois. Le canton de Genève se développe au détriment des campagnes qui restent tributaires des besoins de la ville et de son étalement. Les communes rurales subissent les effets du dynamisme du bassin genevois ce qui fragilise leur rôle et leur position dans l’agglomération. Un nouveau rapport ville campagne s’installe peu à peu et redéfinit les enjeux et les problématiques rurales et périurbaines de ce territoire. Il devient important de comprendre les mutations que connaissent actuellement les campagnes pour pouvoir les traiter et les aborder correctement dans les questions liées au territoire et à son évolution. Le développement du canton de Genève et la relation qu’il a entretenu au fil des siècles avec son territoire agricole illustrent l’importante place d’un prisme urbain qui a dessiné les lignes directrices du bassin genevois. Les campagnes avec leur histoire, leurs motifs, leurs rôles et leurs revendications cherchent aujourd’hui à se définir et à se positionner dans l’agglomération. Le projet de paysage permet de les reconsidérer dans toutes leurs complexités tout en apportant un autre regard sur le développement du bassin genevois. L’identité des communes rurales et plus largement du territoire est révélée et se solidarise autour du paysage qui devient un élément fort pour projeter le devenir de ces espaces et dessiner une image commune. Le projet paysage offre l’opportunité de changer de paradigme dans la manière de traiter un territoire et illustre un nouveau rapport ville campagne où ces deux entités s’équilibrent et deviennent complémentaires.

| Summary |
For several years, physical and social changes have been observed in the agricultural and rural areas of Geneva. The Canton of Geneva is growing at the expense of the countryside, which remains reliant on the needs of the city and dependent on Geneva’s urban sprawl. The rural areas are suffering the effects of the Geneva area dynamism which weakens their role and their position in the agglomeration. A new relation between countryside and cities is progressively taking shape and redefines the issues and the rural and peri-urban problems of this territory. It becomes crucial to understand the changes currently taking place in the countryside to be able to deal with them and address them correctly in matters related to the territory and its evolution. The development of the Canton of Geneva and the relationship it has sustained over the centuries with its agricultural territory, illustrate the central place of an urban prism that has drawn the guidelines of the Geneva area. The rural areas with their history, their motives, their roles and their demands seek today to define themselves and to position themselves in the agglomeration. The landscape project makes it possible to reconsider them in all their complexities while bringing another look at the Geneva area expansion. The identity of the rural municipalities, and more broadly of the territory, is revealed and brought to life around the landscape which becomes a strong element to plan the future of these spaces and to draw a common image. The landscape project offers the opportunity to change the pattern in the way of treating a territory and illustrates a new connection between cities and countryside and where these two entities balance and become complementary.
